We are an independent, person-centred and clinician led practice based South Wales, UK. We provide high quality face-to-face neurodevelopmental (autism and ADHD) and learning assessments to privately funding children and adults.
All of our multi-disciplinary assessing team have worked within NHS services providing diagnostic assessments and use the wealth and breadth of knowledge they have accumulated throughout their careers to ensure the highest quality of assessment is provided to all our clients in a timely manner.
Our neurodevelopmental assessments follow the guidelines set out by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and conform to NHS standards. Many assessment providers will not follow these guidelines to reduce the time and funds required to complete this work. This can mean that any diagnostic outcomes and/or recommendations that result from assessments will not be accepted by schools and other important organisations.
In addition, although we are aware that other services now provide assessments using purely virtual/remote models, at South Wales Psychology we promote face-to-face working, meaning all assessments will involve some in-person appointments. We believe this is the best and safest way to ensure our clinical team obtain accurate information about you/your child and the challenges you/your child are experiencing, resulting in diagnostic outcomes that all can feel confident in.
The majority of our clinical appointments take place at the Life Therapy Centre, 1 Pell Street, Swansea, SA1 3ES.
The Life Therapy Centre is situated in the centre of Swansea, easily accessible by car or public transport and with many nearby parking options. The centre contains a reception with hot drink facilities, which can be utilised as a waiting area during appointments. We are able to provide ground-floor accessible rooms as needed, but please do advise the assessing team of your requirements upon booking.
We also have a base in Bridgend, which can be used for those clients located further East or where this is preferred.
